Long chaotic notice lists travel by road and ferry to Dublin and Belfast via Plymouth and Falmouth with sailing dates and agent contact. It includes political notices from Middlesex candidates, dates for nomination and polling, and medical book promotions by Courtenay with addresses and testimonials.
In Palace Court Salisbury v Probart a claim for 201 pounds 16 shillings and 6 pence for medicines and attendance was rejected. Evidence described ointments for a family afflicted by itch and mistaken herpes diagnosis, with doctors debating treatment and cure times. jury returned a verdict for the defendant.
James Bish and Joseph Willoughby were charged with stealing a farmer James Symonds sheep at Beiga and Joseph Lay faced a receiving indictment. The night of the theft a heavy object was thrown over Lay’s garden wall. Willoughby and Bish were found guilty and sentenced for life. Lay was acquitted amid cheers.
A distressed Westminster report covers a young woman of about eighteen who vandalized the Chequers in Tothill Street and Mr Forty’s shop glass, twice imprisoned after earlier riots.
