Railway plan critique and Gippsland line debate in 1903 memorandum
Letters and committee report discuss a proposed Traralgon to Meamyam railway route via Mount Fatigue Binginwarri Bulga Balok Carrara and Gormaidale. Opinions cite economic gain for farming districts, road alternatives, and the high cost of construction against uncertain revenue. The Railway Standing Committee dismisses the line as impractical and urges road development instead.
