Car Overturns Near Perth On Return Trip
A party of Perth residents in several cars ran to Tood yay last Sunday. On the return at about 5:30 p.m. the lead Velie broke through a water table edge, swerved, and toppled into a brook near the Coorinja stables. The driver suffered internal injuries and external wounds but escaped with help. One female passenger was pinned mid wreck, her head through the wheel with only steel stays and fender supporting her. she remained trapped for about a quarter hour before rescue. She survived, reportedly the brightest of the group. Dr Hussey advised hospital for the driver, who later went to Perth despite the doctor’s initial caution. The other passengers endured scratches and shock but continued in the remaining cars.
