June church notices from Toodyay and surrounding towns list Evensong and Mass times for June, with Rev. Harry Baxter, Rev. Hollands, and other ministers. A lantern lecture by Rev. K K Fleming on the Inland Mission is announced, to aid Home Mission work. Archbishop Le Fanu recently presided at confirmations at Toodyay.
Kenneth Lee found his father William Fredrick Lee age 59 shot in the head at an out-camp near the Mt Fueeren old homestead on Wednesday. A shotgun lay between him and his legs. Constable Clarke notified. The deceased was an invalid pensioner of North Toodyay. An inquest will be held later.
Dorcas and Ula Pott returned to Subiaco after a Key Farm holiday week. Mary Howlett came back to Perth from Toodyay, while Archdeacon Storrs visits Toodyay for a few days. Pauline Gadsdon at Key Farm is indisposed with quinsy. Mrs Jack Robinson visited Perth briefly, returning by Tuesday’s train. Tooday Public School’s annual dinner will be June 28 under Mr T Christie. A Gift Club rose garden fund drive raised at Mrs Goody’s home, with prizewinners Mrs Webster and Mrs Pearce.
The new Anglo Augustine's church at Bolgart was consecrated by Archbishop Le Fanu with a large attendance. G R Jacquett of Nedlands presided, many crowds unable to enter the church. A strong appeal followed to help reduce the building debt. The church was built by Arthur Bateman of Toodyay under P W Harrison, with stone from Carroll property by W G Hawke. The interior features a five foot high mosaic dado and red toned ceiling from Brady and Co. Bolgart is praised as one of the finest churches of its type, with commendation for local community members.
Interested readers are urged to contact Mr. Larghe Fleay or Mr. Tom Tomkins to help form a gymnasium club. The two young men are currently training for the Beverley event and would excel under proper supervision.
A new building will soon rise on Stirling Terrace to house the Toodyay Country Women's Rest Room with foundations begun. Materials from Coandle Hall will form the quarters for the branch amid renovations. Last week Miss J Pou and relatives planned a Kew Farm holiday when a car skidded near Clackline, overturning about three miles from town. all escaped serious injury, but were shaken, and Mr and Mrs Potts returned to Subiaco, car badly damaged.
Advance rumours say the Toodyay State School plans a fancy dress ball modeled on the previous year’s bright social highlight. If true, the function should be a grand night, though some note the work behind the scenes.

His Grace attended services at Garth Toodyay and Clackline to dedicate a new Tory Communion rail honoring late rectors Rev. Alfred Craven Rev. Edward Saunders and Rev. John Mason. The rails were erected with voluntary labour by Mr. J. Wroth senior.

Two night screening at Northam Capitol Theatre features the comedy You Can t Take It With You hailed as the year s outstanding picture. Cast includes Jean Arthur Lionel Barrymore James Stewart Edward Arnold Mischa Auer Ann Miller Spring Byington. Produced by Frank Capra, it is the screen version of the Pulitzer Prize play. Also shown are Behind the Criminal from Crime Does Not Pay, a cartoon Robinson Crusoe broadcaster newsreels from Metro Gaumont and Fox.
