Market Report notes Saitu & Co held a surplus sheep sale at Gripthorpe on June 28 with 1 003 sheep yarded. Harsh weather kept attendance low though buyers from Meckering Northam and Toodyay attended. Yarded stock consisted of Merino rams of Bungaree blood in good order.
An announced lecture on fat lamb production by Mr F L Shiers in Toodyay Lesser Hall was postponed due to illness. The sale of the yarded sheep drew good bidding with a total clearance and firm prices, including Merino ewes aged and mated to Bungaree blood rams, and 1,003 sheep sold in total.
In the advertising column the Toodyay Road Board announces that licenses for all vehicles and dogs became due on July 1 and must be taken out by July 15.
