Me E D Sinclair announces the closure of his premises on Stirling Terrace Toodyay and thanks patrons for their support during the past business period.
Principal notifies parents that arrangements are made to transfer the boys to the Christian Brothers Agricultural School at Tardun. Internal Air Raid precautions have ARP approval and authorities.
The Presentation Nuns inform parents that for the scholastic year on Tuesday 3 February classes continue as usual. In case of evacuation pupils will be transferred to the Convent under Sisters care. Parents may apply to the Mother Superior Stella to arrange their child’s evacuation or stay.
A Melbourne speech by M L A R 8 Sampson urges a broad national effort in total war. He cites Churchill on front lines through factories and farms, condemns indiscriminate white feathers, and warns that feeding the population is as vital as arming troops, with a dairying district example of brothers on 1000 acre farms and milk production at risk.

Joyce Edna McCluney and Sgt David Ernest Jefferys were married at St Marys Church Colin Street Perth on Saturday. The bride wore ivory lace with lilies of the valley and tuber roses, with sister Joan as bridesmaid. Best man was Jack Jefferys, reception at the Reno with about 36 guests and many telegrams of congratulations.
Thelma Doreen, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs T Jarkey, married Cedric Charles Ferguson on Saturday January 24 at St John the Baptist Church Toodyay. Rev Father Murray officiated. The bride wore ivory silk georgette with lace, veil, and orange blossom coronet. A reception followed at the Freemasons Hotel with family and friends in attendance.
