Men of the A and Field Company held a social evening and dance in Toodyay inviting all residents including children. Supper was provided and the event ended around 1 am with cheers and thanks to the band as everyone departed after a full night of enjoyment.

Australia imposes a three month exemption on export levy for rabbit skins shipped overseas from January 1 to March 31 1943 to aid trappers amid low prices. Minister Scully notes the exemption excludes skins already bought for export to prevent middleman gains and warns of strict action against exploitation. The move follows a prior levy cut from 1/6 to Sd per Sb and aims to boost rabbit destruction after a prolific season.
The Commonwealth Rationing Commission publishes a booklet titled Rationing answers to your coupon queries. It will be available in a fortnight in stores and newsagents for 2d. Since the outbreak of war the total number of women working in Australia has increased from 450,900 to 740,000. Of these, 160,000 are in war work or women's auxiliary services and another 25,000 are in rural industry.
