Local Boy Scout troop prepares for a Christmas camping trip with support from the Wendouree Tea Rooms. A bridge evening at the same venue on Monday night raised thanks to Mrs Hillbrick for her efforts on their behalf.
The Toodyay Road Board calls a public meeting on Friday to consider the suggested closing of Woodyay Hospital. A trip by Theoodyay Tennis Club to Baker's Hill on Sunday last ended with Baker's Hill winning easily.

The Poodyay infantry militia men returned home from camp by bus at about midnight on Sunday with accompaniment of sheets. No definite announcement has been made as to when the platoon will re-enter camp for another three months.

A fairly large congregation attended the recent Sunday service led by J. F. Burt of Durham England. Mr Burt spoke on a topic reflecting the service and community life amid lingering concerns within the parish.
The Junior Farmers Club announces a meeting for the year with a special scroll event on December 16. Members and others are urged to attend and support the effort.
The Parents and Citizens Association invites the public to a rhythmic dancing display by children at the Stas School on Wednesday December 20. If hot weather occurs the event will move to the lull afternoon. tea will be served.

Mrs M Geary returned to Toodyay after a short Northam holiday. Miss Nancy Crossland Nance recently returned to the West after about 16 months in the Eastern States.
