Mrs Gadson hosted an afternoon at Key Farm on 23ul to bid farewell to Mrs Forbes bound for Brookton, with bridge, tea, and a Gift Club presentation. Prizes went to Mrs Jervois, Mrs Adams, and Mrs Batty. Attendees listed include numerous local ladies. The Ladies Golf Club met at the Freemasons Hotel on Saturday.
An evening to bid farewell to Mrs Forbes with Mrs Christie presenting six stainless knives on behalf of the ladies. They expressed sorrow at her departure and wished her luck in her new home. The event ended with the song For She s a Jolly Good Fellow.
Toodyay residents bid farewell to Mr Bernie Ryan and his wife after seven years running the Newcastle Hotel. Local notables praised their work for the State and district welfare, with messages of luck for their new venture and appreciation from a large gathering.
