The first wheat consignment for the 1933 34 season passes Toodyay on its route via Foegian. Operations on the line are underway and a longtime local member of 15 years will receive a service award this month. A year‑end meeting is set for Tuesday at 2 30 p.m. and a Children's Xmas Party is planned for Thursday the 21st at 7 30 p.m.

West Toodyay defeated Coondle in a single Sendey war match at Toodyay. H Ferguson top scored with 42 runs as West Toodyay players shared the runs and two retired hurt. R Johnstone and Ferguson contributed solidly while bowling figures cited include Donegan 1 for 36 and Buckle 2 for 14. The meeting recorded appreciation for the chairman and noted the need for a full receipts and expenditures statement.

The death occurred at Toodyay on Batuttay last of Mrs Laura Ago Phillips widow of John Hugh Phillips of Calhiam. Born at Deepdale she was 75. Survived by son John C. Phillips and daughter Mrs H W Clarkson of Toodyay. Funeral held with services at St Stephen's Church and Culham Church burial in Culham cemetery. Chief mourners included C Philips nephew J B Brit and D McPherson attended by many locals and some from Perth.

The final meeting of the Toodyay Centenary celebrations committee was held in Rosd Beard Chambers with Mr. J. Pollitt presiding. The balance sheet was adopted and an honorarium of 3 guineas awarded to secretary Mr Villiers for his services.
Calcarra Sale Eldar Smith and Co conducted a clearing sale by Mr E P Rolfe at Benaring west of Calcarra on the 94th. Prices ranged from cattle and cattle, cows with calves to £4 5/ in colour and condition. Sheep entries include 149 Merino ewes, 13 1/2 to 18 1/2 pounds. Wethers, fat lambs and cull ewes noted with varied prices.
Funeral arrangements for Francis daughter were carried out by Mc. 1, 8, Brooks.
The Toodyay Tennis Club visited Watten for a friendly early season match aiming for two annual meetings. Wattening defeated Toodyay 15 sets 129 games to 14 sets 114 games with mixed doubles and singles results listed, including Ludemann and Cooper leading Toodyay and Wattening players claiming several wins. The full fall tournament report will appear in the next issue.
The funeral of James Christopher Markey was held in Toodyay with service at the Roman Catholic Church conducted by Rev Father Callies and a burial procession to the cemetery. He leaves a widow, six sons William Lionel Themes Susley Arthur Louis and one daughter, plus many relatives. A large crowd attended, with pallbearers named and numerous wreaths from friends and family.
The death of Mrs Francis Jala May Machin aged 61 occurred Sunday at Northam Hospital after a period of hospitalization. Wife of William Joseph Machin of Baker's Hill she was born in Dimborn France and immigrated with her husband to Western Australia about 23 years ago. The funeral was held Monday at Northam Cemetery with Rev Father Duan officiating and the chief mourners including her husband and son Albert.
