Arctic Survey Expedition Plans New All Year Air Route
Air Survey The Shell Company reports from London that the Arctic Survey Expedition, led by Mr A G Watkins and sponsored by the Royal Geographical Society, has added two Moth aeroplanes to gather meteorological data in Iceland and Greenland. The Quest, Shackleton’s former ship, will survey a potential England Canada air route via Iceland and Greenland, aiming for an all year service with a base on the Southeast coast of Greenland. The expedition expects to cut England Canada travel time by about eight days and to take about a year to complete the survey.
