Telegraphic report from Monterey dated August 65 states Charles Freeman, a former railroad conductor, shot himself through the head and died this morning. The item is part of The Two Republics special service.
Fresno California August 5 robbers held up the Southern Pacific train five miles from the city and escaped with nearly fifty thousand dollars. Other dispatches report Cuban revolutionary activity and a pursuit of Catarino Garza in Texas, while New York notes bar silver at 85t.

Buenos Aires covers escapes by revolutionaries from jail in Zucuman, large arms seizures in Rosario, and a Mendoza earthquake with no fatalities. Valparaiso reports the death of Monsignor Salvador Donoso, a liberal Chillan cleric once jailed and exiled, amid Balmaceda regime fallout.
