Library calls for volunteers to support new building
Taber Public Library invites volunteers to an open house from 2 to 9 p.m. to recruit help for fundraising events. Library board member Brad Murphy says sign-up sheets will be posted for varied times and suggests about six events are planned to raise 300000 dollars over two years, starting with the Nov. 19 Craft Fair and Book Sale at the community centre from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Lights out at Taber Hospital outage disrupts power and prompts repairs
Fortis reports a 1 p.m. outage on Monday cut the Taber Hospital from the grid while its backup generators failed for about an hour on Tuesday. Residential power also flickered for up to three hours as a three phase switching cubicle fault damaged an underground line, but generators restored full hospital power within the hour with no patient care issues.
