Horizon board to meet in Vauxhall

The Horizon School Division board met in Vauxhall on August 28 to discuss staffing for 2012 2013 with 34 teaching positions filled including 21 new hires and 19 probationary contracts. The Vauxhall Schools re dedication ceremony is set for September 18 from 1 to 3 pm with open houses at VES and VHS from 12 to 1 pm.

Tabor council approves two subdivision plans and more

At the August 20 meeting council approved subdividing Lot 34 35 36 Block 39 Plan 4348 4833 57th Avenue into two residential lots and Lot B Block 60 Plan 4348 R-4930 62nd Avenue into two lots. They rejected reversing a $205.02 tax penalty and discussed funding for Arts Council of Taber renovations. Also reviewed portable sign provisions and a possible designation of the former Taber Courthouse as a Provincial Historic Resource.
