Taber Mourns Former Mayor Norman Boyle at 89
Norman Stu Boyle a longtime optometrist from 1949 to 1991 and Taber Kiwanis Club stalwart for over 40 years died at 89 last Tuesday. He was known for his wide friendships, his red Mercedes purchased last year, and being a devoted family man who kept others smiling. His daughter Heather Holland of Vancouver recalls his charm with servers and his focus on family happiness.

Government to assume liability for Alberta teachers pension gap
A long running effort between the Alberta Teachers Association and the government has culminated in an agreement in principle. The MOA transfers full responsibility for the pre-1992 unfunded liability of the Alberta Teachers Pension Plan, estimated at 6.3 billion, to the government.
