Hooked on Hope drug conference to highlight Taber issues
Taber draws attention to illegal drug use during National Addictions Awareness Week with the Hooked on Hope conference on November 24 and 25. Organizers from Taber Community Against Drugs fund the event with $9,000 from the Drugs Strategy Community Initiatives Fund and $5,000 from a Lions Club golf tournament. Kerry Milder leads the education and prevention group and aims to deter methamphetamine trafficking and emphasize cocaine and meth dangers.
