Taber Pride Kicks Off Weekend With Lead With Love Theme

Taber Pride 2024 runs May 28 to June 1 with a flag raising at the Provincial Building at 11 a.m. June 1, speakers, music, and activities at Confederation Park. Events include library art displays and a Pride Trivia Night May 30 at Taber Public Library, organized by Taber Equality Alliance and funded by donations, fundraising, and a Canada Heritage Fund grant.

Water levels rise in area reservoirs but remain below normal

City of Lethbridge update shows Oldman River reservoir at 62 percent capacity, below the normal 68 to 89 percent. St Mary and Waterton reservoirs sit around 62 and 63 percent, with norms at 69 to 83 percent. Earlier readings, in April, showed Oldman at 32 percent and St Mary at 20 percent. Provincial drought measures prompted voluntary water sharing, with major licensees cutting use. Lethbridge Northern and St Mary River Irrigation Districts allocate eight inches per acre this year, down from 16 to 22 inches.
