Taber town council approved final changes to the 2008 Operating Budget and Tax Rate Bylaw after learning provincial contributions for Tabor schools and senior housing. Amended figures reflect reduced residential and nonresidential mill rates and revised tax revenue plans tied to new development growth.
A May 14 2008 incident northwest of Taber on private property left a two year old dead after a four wheel ATV carried five riders. The quad which holds two max was unseated by a downhill jump, all passengers were ejected. Two year old died at Taber hospital. other riders had minor injuries. No helmets worn.
The Municipal District of Taber reduced residential and non residential mill rates by 0.25 mills each, while farmland mill rate stays unchanged. This contrasts with rising overall costs and affects taxpayers across residential and commercial properties.
