Wind farms near Cranford spark regional energy plans
Suncor moves ahead with the Chin Chute wind project south of Cranford and near Taber, with 77 metre rotor spans on 80 metre towers. Enmax plans an 80 MW facility south of Fincastle and Purple Springs, costing 140 million dollars and supplying Calgary with power for 20 years. Tax revenue from both projects could reach about 500 000 dollars annually for the M D of Taber.
