Alberta to allow pharmacist prescription renewals starting July 1 2012
Alberta introduces a Budget 2012 plan permitting pharmacists to renew prescriptions at designated locations beginning July 1 2012 with about 1000 sites. The change lowers generic drug prices saving about 85 million for 2012 13, plus a 15.9 million three year Remote Pharmacy Access Grant to aid rural pharmacies.
