Water issues spark debate in M.D. drainage split
M D residents and council clash over who pays for surface drainage and ditch work in Huckleberry Crescent area. May 17 meeting discussed road and ditch problems, with costs for surface drainage inside and outside the loop estimated at about 25 790 and 24 411 dollars. Council voted 50 50 on those items and 100 percent of road drainage costs, while a frontage tax was approved to share fixes caused by unlawful landscaping and right of way misuse. A June 1 special meeting with residents addressed ongoing concerns.
