Blackfoot Name Bestowed on Dr Timensen in Ceremony

Elder Charlie Fox of the Kaunai Nation led a naming ceremony recognizing Dr. Wilco Tymensen for a lifetime of education work at the Horizon School Division office. Attendees included M D of Taber Reeve Tamara Mi yanaga Taber-Warner MLA Grant Hunter Horizon Board chair Marie Logan and others. Tymensen received the Blackfoot name Kinii Ksiksinam meaning White Buffalo.

Tollestrup Construction wins Taber asphalt contract

Alberta boosts housing aid for gender based violence victims

Alberta increases the Housing Benefit for Survivors of Gender-Based Violence by 8.5 million, raising the annual eligible amount to 7 200 per survivor. The program is part of a 10 year strategy to end gender based violence backed by Budget 2025 investments totaling over 188 million. Survivors are urged to seek help via alberta supports or local Alberta Supports Offices.
