Relay organizers reported 29 teams up from 27 last year and 270 participants including 45 cancer survivors. A total of 612 luminaries were sold for Friday’s events, with 52 volunteers and one standout helper who stayed overnight. Hall will step down as chair in 2010, leaving a template for future coordinators as the relay aims to grow further.
