Town of Taber approves admin building renovation plan
At the June 28 council meeting Taber councillors unanimously approved proceeding with the Town of Taber Administration Building project. The town will hire Sahari and Partners Architecture Inc. of Calgary under a contract not to exceed 250000. Mayor Ray Bryant notes the 40 year old facility has inefficiencies and wasted space.

Ivy Lund celebrates 100th birthday at Taber Hospital
Ivy Elizabeth Lund turned 100 and enjoys extended care at Taber Hospital. Born June 30 1910 in Reigate England she moved to Vernon BC as a child later teaching elementary school near Salmon Arm. She married Clark Lund in 1934 and has three children and many grandchildren including country singer Corb Lund.

Alberta trims deficit to $1 billion on spending controls
Alberta reports a revised deficit of one billion dollars after tighter spending and higher revenue, down from four point seven billion. Revenue reached thirty five point seven billion, boosted by oil sands royalties and corporate tax, while expenses rose to thirty six point seven billion due to disaster and emergency costs. MLA Broyce Jacobs says the Sustainability Fund remains robust at about fifteen billion.
