Southern Alberta Summer Games through the decades
The Southern Alberta Summer Games began with a committee from the Southern Alberta Recreation Association led by Max Gibb and others. Pincher Creek hosted the first Games in 1970 with about 1,200 competitors and 10,000 regional participants seeking regional reps, growing into Alberta s largest annual sporting event by 1980.
