STARS appeals to town council for ongoing support
STARS representative Glenda Farnden urged the Alberta town to renew a 50 percent funding partnership as the organization seeks a new 10-year affiliation. She highlighted three bases in Calgary Edmonton and Grande Prairie with combined annual base costs of about 30 million plus additional dispatch education and admin costs. Farnden noted STARS relies on a mix of municipal support lottery revenue and fundraising to cover about 18 million yearly shortfall.
