Council questions 2024 operating budget and staff costs
In a December meeting council examined the 2024 budget summary presented by John Orwa CFO. Salaries and benefits dominate expenses at 13.65 million while total revenues reach 30.05 million leaving a 5.17 million deficit. Council member Bekkering urged scrutiny of salaries and the stabilization fund, while McLean pressed to cut compensation. the panel approved the 2024 budget and endorsed the three year rolling budget despite McLean's opposition.
