Wright named to drought committee by Alberta government
MLA Justin Wright has been named to a six person committee reporting to the provincial government as it prepares for a potential drought this year. Environment Minister Rebecca Schulz announced the panel on February 7 to serve as an independent sounding board for communities farmers ranchers and businesses to share conserve and manage water during a drought. The province is already engaging with large licence holders about sharing agreements and has asked municipalities large industrial users and irrigators to draft conservation plans and contingencies.
