Horizon Career Counselling Highlighted for Rural Students
Garth Mouland, Horizon School Division career counsellor, outlined services at the Jan. 17 trustees meeting. He travels to Lomond Vauxhall Ace Place Warner and Milk River, offers presentations one on one workshops newsletters and guides students toward five paths post high school including apprenticeships post secondary and gap year adventures. He noted low awareness of scholarships and complex application processes and urged math selection based on aptitude to avoid closing doors to post secondary options.
