Mayor Ray Bryant cites repeated failures at the Aquafun Centre after a $2 million upgrade. A brand new heating and ventilation system malfunctioned in 30 degree weather, forcing a two to three day shutdown and reopening delays. Prior closures from January to May followed cost overruns and underestimated repairs.
The Arts Council of Taber received a 75000 grant from Alberta's Community Initiatives Fund matching community contributions for the Centre Court for the Arts. ACT president Diane Llewelyn-Jones hailed the milestone and noted the value of volunteer effort alongside funding. MLA Broyce Jacobs attended to present the cheque and celebrate local engagement with culture.
