Total funds raised $900 plus $300 from Team Scotia Community. Yard Earns Environmentally Friendly Yard Honor
Yvonne Bullock’s front yard at 4635 51 Ave Taber is named 2011 Environmentally Friendly Yard by the Taber and District Chamber of Commerce. The design mimics a dry river bed or wadi using rocks shrubs and perennials to save water while showcasing Qurtz crystals globe thistle and an oak tree. Bullock recalls three years of planning with her late husband Bruce a geologist and notes maintaining the space takes about two hours daily after spring cleanup.
