Weather shapes bean crop outlook and white mould
Agricultural official Owen Cleland of Taber Bean Plant Agricore United says hot dry conditions have reduced white mould in beans but stressed heat and wind hurt pod sets and could trim yields. He forecasts an average to slightly above average crop around 2100 to 2200 pounds per acre with Labour Day harvest timing possible shifting earlier if heat persists.
