Wrentham Wind Farm poised for 2008 or 2009 start
AIM PowerGen, owner of the planned Wrentham Wind Farm in southwest Alberta, has been acquired by REG of the UK. The project could produce 130 to 150 MW from 75 to 100 turbines, costing about 300 million and aiming for construction in 2008 or 2009. The plan includes tying into new provincial transmission lines after grid improvements. The wind farm would power an estimated 89 000 to 45 000 households in the Taber Lethbridge region.
