Taber council OKs 4 Percent Property Tax Increase for 2011
The 2011 property tax rate bylaw, approved April 11, raises homeowners’ taxes by 4.08 percent with a 6.6589 municipal mill rate. Non-residential property taxes rise 1.36 percent and machinery and equipment taxes 2.83 percent, reflecting growth rather than inflation. Monthly home tax shows $11.46 rise for a $281,480 assessment. a large non-residential assessment could see about $324.09 more per month. The bylaw passed unanimously after first and second readings and third reading.
