The family of Raymond Eugene Paige Galvin announces his death on Friday April 9 2004 at age 85. Born September 19 1918 in Burdett he served in the Army from 1941 including the Normandy invasion and occupation duty returning in 1946. He owned stores in Grassy Lake and Taber, worked as a greenskeeper and at the Taber Sugar Factory, and enjoyed travel outdoors and pioneer history. Prayers were held April 12 at Southland Funeral Chapel Taber and a funeral Mass April 13 at St Augustine's Catholic Church Taber with burial at Bow Island Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
