High utility costs push Taber Food Bank to stretch donations
Taber Food Bank coordinator Sharon Gillespie says high utility bills and rising costs push more people to rely on the pantry. The group spends about 3500 dollars monthly and records 85742 dollars in donations of food and toiletries for the year while distributing 63845 dollars in hampers. The charity seeks funds through events and Saskatchewan Manitoba wheat board donations while eyeing a May Calgary meeting for the Southern and Central Alberta Food Bank Association joining 47 banks so far.
