Taber auction raises funds for STARS and EMS

Organizers report a record auction in Taber boosting proceeds to nearly 47000 with half going to STARS and half to Taber EMS. STARS praised the event with Debbie-Lyne Guerin noting it as a top per capita fundraiser. funds will buy a Zoll cardiac monitor and defibrillator for use on all three ambulances.

Taber Man Fined 1035 for Impaired Driving Plea

Darryl Boyd Staples aged 39 faced Taber provincial court where he pled guilty to driving with out due care and attention and not guilty to impaired driving. Crown prosecutor Eric Brooks said police observed erratic driving on Oct 4 2002. Judge Brian Hogan imposed 900 dollar fine plus a 135 dollar victim surcharge and a 60 day driving suspension.

Taber woman fined $600 for impaired driving in court

Karen Darcelle Durant 34 pled guilty in Taber provincial court on April 1 to impaired driving after police observed a vehicle without headlights at 1:50 a.m. on Sept. 5, 2002. Judge Brian Hogan fined Durant $600 and imposed a one year driving prohibition.
