Deputy Prime Minister John Manley and US Ambassador Paul Cellucci will attend a 9/11 memorial service at the International Peace Gardens on September 11.

Grasshoppers in Reston area caused serious crop damage and stripped bark from Mountain Ash trees. Local gardeners report lawns and gardens heavily affected as insects continue to swarm through the neighborhood.
New surface on Menarey Street in Cartwright will use Earthzyme paving a new road surfacing system. The material is cheaper than standard asphalt and has been used successfully elsewhere but this is its first test in the area.
Site work began August 27 for a 2,670 square foot Roblin Credit Union in Inglis. Construction is scheduled to finish February 15, 2004.
Renovations at Badger Creek Lodge Cartwright convert six bachelor suites into four roomy one bedroom units. Kitchen cupboards were fully redone upgrading the lodgings.

The 2004 Tiger Hills Festival of the Arts outlines production costs of about 11000 dollars and a five year hosting cycle with Baldur sharing duties with Wawanesa Glenboro Holland and Treherne. Fundraising includes Solstice Day Music in the Park and Endowment Fund gifts. Volunteers are urged for two weeks of events across venues with new Visual Arts and Speech Arts categories and central adjudication.
Prairie Spirit School Division reports higher than projected enrolment for the 2003 2004 year with Baldur School listing 150 students across grades Kindergarten to Grade 12 Mariapolis 13 Shamrock 27 and Ninette 23 students with grade by grade splits noted for each school in the division
