Manitoba Conservation’s April 2001 outlook says flood potential remains high in southwestern and parts of southeastern Manitoba with weather, snow melt rate, and spring precipitation driving changes. Crest levels forecast to be largely below 1995 with dry/warm spells reducing risk, but a significant snowstorm or heavy rain could raise floods, especially on the Souris and Assiniboine basins.
