Chetwynd Day plans emerge from May meeting
The Chetwynd Chamber of Commerce met at the Chetwynd Hotel last Tuesday to discuss July 10 as Chetwynd Day. A First Anniversary of the renaming will fund fire department equipment, with a Coordinating Committee planned for May 12 to merge local groups for broader July events.

Chetwynd Approves New Water System Proposal
A forty person meeting at the Chetwynd Hotel approved a $165,496 water system for Chetwynd. The plan by Alan Ker of Victoria omits the current reservoir and dam, replacing them with a Pine River pumping station, a nearby filter station, and a storage tank at 2200 feet. Tenders were to be set by March 15 with work to start May 1, and taxes and tolls set to return 11 percent annually.
