New clothing store planned between Phillips and Gerry's
A new men and women’s clothing store is being built between Phillips and Gerry's Food Stores. Collette and Dick Kenny will operate it. The 28 by 52 foot building is largely framed and sheathed. Exterior completion is expected by week end, with interior setup and displays in the first week of April. Dick Kenny aims for a April 9 opening.

Aircraft Damaged In Forced Landing Near Prince George
A light single engine aircraft with a pilot and two passengers was forced to land near Little Boulder at about 5 pm on Wednesday while en route from Dawson Creek to Prince George. Bad weather forced the diversion over Pine Pass. the crew attempted Hasler Flats to await better weather, but the plane became stuck in mud and the pilot ferried passengers by car to reduce weight for takeoff again. On reflight the engine failed after a mile, and the aircraft struck the Hart Highway ditch, damaging the propeller and wings. No injuries reported.

Chamber presses for daily mail to Chetwynd
The Chamber of Commerce plans a fresh bid this week for daily postal service to Chetwynd. The move follows staff shifts from Dawson Creek to Chetwynd at Fort St. John Lumber and growing dispatch of fifteen core loads daily from Peace River Forest Industries, causing delays up to three days. The Chamber will petition the Post Office Department to restore daily service.
