Chetwynd forms Civil Defense force and appoints fire chief
The town announces a new local Civil Defense structure with an Auxiliary Police and Fire Department under RCMP planning. George Peck named publisher liaison, Frank Oberle named Fire Chief after executive Chamber of Commerce vote. Training planned with Dawson Creek and Prince George programs. 64 exhibit entries planned for an August 13 Chetwynd exhibition sponsored by Little Prairie Community Club.
