Chedtwynd Car Theft Stuns Pacific Great Eastern Railway
A orange Landrover used by the Pacific Great Eastern Railway Communications Department was stolen Monday night while parked outside a Chevron station. PGE employees and the Chevron dealer hunted along routes to Dawson Creek Moberly Lake and Pine Pass. Forestry staff stopped a mechanic with a similar vehicle and a second employee faced a posse at Pine Valley Lodge. only about two gallons of fuel remained. Mechanic Jack Dawson from Prince George later identified in the investigation.

Campaign needed for nurse space at August clinic
A sizable drive may be required to secure space for the public health nurse’s next clinic in mid August. The old school building, used by the library and clinic for nearly a year, will again serve as a classroom this fall. Funds for materials are arriving but no labor has been donated to finish the foundation and reconstruction.
Radio network links Hart Highway Aids Forest and RCMP
The British Columbia Forest Service installs mobile and high frequency radio links along the Hart Highway linking ranger stations to the Prince George district office. Additional VHF networks serve Forestry South of Prince George and highways maintenance camps. RCMP anticipation of new stations promises instant talk to Dawson Creek and Prince George. The Pacific Great Eastern Railway microwave system ties these networks to trains and fleet depots.

A Landrover was taken from behind a building near Lynx Creek by Azon Zotta. No trace of the thief has been found and the vehicle remains missing.
