Macquarie Cinema Pavement Dispute Resolved at Council
After a lengthy council session Alderman Westbury pressed for reinstating Dr Mawson’s application for a bitumen pavement in front of the Macquarie Cinema. The Mayor indicated a motion would be considered later, then the motion was carried amid questions of attendance. The meeting also dealt with subsidies for the Minto School of Arts, a proposed Water and Sewerage Board road lease, tree removal near the quarry, and a street light petition at Dumeresque and Stewart Streets.
