Funeral of the Late Mr A A Lysaght at Campbelltown
Last Thursday at 2 30 pm the funeral moved from Rosangles Cordeaux Street Campbelltown to St Bede's Catholic Cemetery Appin. A long cortege followed with many sympathisers from Appin and the South Coast. The service was led by Rev A J McHugh P P with several visiting priests. Chief mourners included Mrs Lysaght and children, and many relatives attended. Wreaths came from public figures, the Campbelltown council, unions, clubs and families across the district.

Death of A V Hayes Brings Campbelltown to Mourning
Augustus Vincent Hayes of Campbelltown died suddenly on Monday afternoon while loading wood for his business on Hewitts bush off the Appin Road. The 53 year old former railway man leaves three children, Marjory, Reginald and Patricia, and a wide circle of friends. He served with the Campbelltown Volunteers Fire Brigade since 1916 and was a vice president of the Campbell town Kangaroo Football Club. His funeral followed a service at St John’s Catholic Church and burial at St John’s Cemetery, with a large procession and many wreaths from the town and local groups.
