Digger Charlie Hepher Dies in Campbelltown
Death of Charlie Hepher aged 52 at Sydney Hospital after war service. He served as a sergeant in the 19th Battalion ALF and later farmed on the Soldiers Settlement in Campbelltown. Survived by widow and seven children. Funeral Friday at 3.30 pm from Methodist Church, with service, then burial at St Peter’s Cemetery. Military ex-members to form guard of honour.

Pollution of Bow Bowing Creek Warns of Water Crisis

Richard Ignatius O Donnell aged 62 died at Kirroa Hospital Randwick after four weeks as an inmate. He had lived with his sister Mrs J Carroll at Sugarloaf Menangle Road and formerly worked for the NSW Government Railways. Funeral was held last Saturday at the Catholic Cemetery Rookwood.

Fire Brigade's Heavy Week in Campbelltown
Campbelltown Fire Brigade answered three calls this week. A rail engine fire near Menangle Bridge used boiling water and a chemical extinguisher to reach flames. Another blaze on Kirton's property along Appin Road required volunteers and 60 soldiers, with no dwellings lost after over four hours of effort.
