Council presses for motor registry office in Campbelltown

At the council meeting the proposal for a Motor Registry Office in Campbelltown faced rejection from the Commissioner of Transport. Aldermen urged a deputation to question the decision, moving to write for a reasonable explanation and keep pursuing a site visit. The motion passed.

Thieves Raid Ingleburn Council Chamber Again

During the night of Wednesday last thieves raided the Council Chambers for a third time in about three months. They attempted to force open the safe likely seeking the pay for workers under Work in Lieu of the Dole. The safe withstood the attack and only electric irons were taken.

Horticultural Council Formed Between Liverpool and Campbelltown

Delegates from Minto and surrounding horticultural bodies met at Minto to form a Horticultural Council aimed at coordinating and advancing work across societies and bureaux in the Liverpool to Campbelltown region. Dr H R G Ponte praised the cooperation, and Ald T J Bratchell lauded the Liverpool Society for leading the move. The Council will have two delegates from each affiliated body and meet quarterly at rotating centers.
