Memorial Tablet to honor Private E B Green

At Campbelltown Methodist Church a Memorial Tablet will be unveiled during the 7 15 evening service on Sunday 27 June in memory of the late Private E B Green who fell at El Alamein 31 October 1942. The event is led by Rev Howlett with support from Pastor W J Thomas and appeals to Returned Soldiers and Campbelltown RSS ATLA members to attend.

The history of St Peter's Church of England Campbelltown, one of five NSW churches built under Lachlan Macquarie, will be reminiscenced by historians next week and by many attending the birthday party.

The award covers all workers on dairy farms including milking cows cream separation fodder growing feeding and cattle care across Australia. It sets ordinary hours up to 56 per week with varying daily limits by month and overtime rates. Leaves pay 14 days after a year. time off one day per month. employers must provide first aid and maintain a time and wage book.

Deaths: Miss Maudina Nicol of Appin

Miss Maudina May Nicol aged 62, lifelong Appin resident, died Sunday at Macquarie Dale. She was daughter of the late Walter and Mary Nicol and sister to Minnie Amy Darcie Beatrice and George Nicol. Funeral Monday at Congregational Church Cemetery Campbelltown with Rev J F Rose conducting. Sympathies extended to the Nicol family.

Flying Officer Swann Killed in Australian Air Accident

Word reached Campbelltown last week that Flying Officer Thomas Wallace Swann RAAF was killed in an air accident while serving with his squadron at a Battle Station in Australia. He was born in 1916, educated at Glenfield High School and Hawkesbury Agricultural College, and joined the Air Force in 1941. Swann served with an American bombardment squadron in 1942, flying over Milne Bay Buna and Port Moresby before his promotion to Flying Officer and assignment to RA A L F at Darwin where he died.
