Donations for church work stall on June 16

Health Dept Letter Delays Ingleburn Centre Service

At the council meeting a Dept of Health communication said staff shortages prevent immediate service at the Ingleburn Baby Health Centre. The matter will be reviewed again in about four weeks to assess if services can be provided then.

Wedderburn Fruitgrowers begin building projects in May

The Wedderburn Fruitgrowers Rural Co operative Society started construction with a sod turning led by President F. Keight on May 41. A working party quickly erected brick piers, felled trees, and prepared fencing while praise and thanks were given to supporters and suppliers for advancing the project.

Licencing Court Grants Ingleburn Hotel Licence Transfer

The Full Licensing Bench at Campbelltown on Tuesday June 5 approved transferring the licence from Candela to Ingleburn for the Royal Hotel. The ruling allows minor building alterations and notes the new hotel will have sixteen bedrooms near the Baby Health Centre.

Building Committee Meeting Notes and Approvals

Building Committee in Connell Chambers on May 29 approved 14 295 in new builds and alterations bringing total since January 1 1951 to 121 390. Reports covered numerous fibro dwellings brick dwellings and workshops in Ingleburn Minto Macquarie Fields Campbelltown and Kent Town with multiple lot numbers and values. subdivision sketches amended and approved. deferrals and deferrals for proper plans, and road works and water table clearances across Canterbury Glenfield Saywell Atchison and surrounding streets. A request re fibro shop dwelling at Macquarie Fields was deferred. Council to consider road maintenance and a truck transfer to the General Fund.

The Works Committee met on Sunday May 27 with Alderman Farnsworth as vice chair and members Apperley Clissold Goodwin Lea. Recommendations include forming and using the Campbell Lane road at an estimated £20, gravelling Old Menangle Road for about 2 chains at £150, building and gravelling a chain each side of Warwick Street Minto near Surrey Street, clearing drains at Minto Road intersection with Victoria Road, and constructing a pipe crossing at Suffolk Street Ingleburn junction with Cumberland Road.

Eventide Homes Appeal Drives Button Sale Across NSW

The Eventide Homes Appeal Committee will sell buttons Friday June 20 at stations across Sydney and suburbs, offices, factories and workshops. Seven cottages are complete and occupied. three more under construction. More funds are sought to finish another cottage and aid needy residents.

Practical Talk on Photography by Harold Ainsworth

Attendees at the Studio of Arts and Crafts enjoyed a practical talk by Harold Ainsworth. He highlighted photography growth, demonstrated tricks with the old Box Brownie, and showcased night electric storm images with third dimension effects. Questions followed and cameras were shown for inspection as interest in forming a camera club grew.
