Campbelltown Red Cross held its monthly meeting at Town Hall with Mrs. M B Rose presiding in Mrs. Selumen’s absence. They outlined Red Cross Day badge sales on Friday June 18 for funds and a carnival at Mawson Park in late October or early November. The quarterly street stall raised £16 17s with prizes awarded to John Cameron and Mrs. Stewart.

Camden Stock Sale Yields Solid Prices Despite Rain

Strong yarding of pigs calves and mixed cattle last Tuesday despite wet weather. Pigs and calves rose in price. fat cattle milkers and springers held firm. Heavy pigs to 1o, porkers to £44 19s 6d, stores £1 5s 6d to £4 2s 6d. Calved cows and heifers showed gains with several ranges across beef dairy stock.

The New South Wales soil erosion scheme offers farmers three options to tackle erosion since January. Landholders may do the work themselves, hire a contract, or have the Soil Conservation Department perform it. Expenditure can be claimed as an income tax deduction, per Mr. H S E Clayton, director of the NSW Soil Conservation Service, who notes many farmers lack capital despite urgency to stop further losses.
